It's Never "The Last Shot" For Mindy Aber Barad

Mindy is a full time caregiver for her handicapped husband. His medical ups and downs (and record breaking blood test results) have become legendary among a widening circle of friends, relatives, doctors and readers.

“I must say Thank God we have had other similar ‘happy endings’ to the one in Hope Whispers. Prayer and Faith are a continuing experience. And while we mustn’t rely on miracles, we have experienced some extraordinary ones,” she said.

We are filled by so little,

Spent with prayer.

My son begins to hum a favorite Sabbath tune,

I join in automatically.

Only after,

Do we look at each other

Questioningly

Is this the right thing to do?

Mindy’s poetry, stories, book reviewsand essays have been published in WildPlum, Current Accounts, the Jerusalem Post, the Jewish Press, Voices Israel, CyclamensandSwords.com and other publications both on and offline. Most recently Mindy has become the Israeli co-editor of The Deronda Review (www.pointandcircumference.com)(www.derondareview.org).
