Francine L. Billingslea shares a parking lot miracle with Hope Whispers
While battling breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy, Francine L. Billingslea collapsed in a hospital parking lot. As she lay there motionless, an elderly woman began backing out her car next to Francine’s unconscious head. She faced certain death -- that was until she was saved by “Faith, Hope and A Parking Lot Miracle.”
In her remarkable true story, Francine shares how her life was spared through divine intervention, not once but twice. After near-misses that could have easily ended her life, she discovered that she wasn’t the only one who was touched by her experiences. “Even though I was going through a very arduous time in my life with breast cancer, chemotherapy and all the trials and struggles that came with it, I had faith and hope,” Francine said. “But evidently that elderly woman who almost ran over me needed those things much more than I did,” she added. “I often think that our lives were spared in different ways for different reasons, and mine was spared physically, while hers was spared spiritually. I also think that everything that happens in our lives is not always by chance or coincidence, but a part of a divine plan. It also shows us that we are here to help each other by any means necessary.”
Francine never saw that woman again, but she knows in her heart that angels, miracles, faith and prayer took on a whole new meaning for her. “When I think of some of my breast cancer experiences that one always puts a smile on my face – it’s another reason to be thankful and one more thing to write about.”
